- Stearin increases shrinkage in candle waxes after they solidify. Thus using it with candle making waxes allow the set candles to be pulled out of the mould easily
- Stearin also increases the vibrancy of the candle colours.
- Stearin increases the melting point of paraffin wax and increases burning time. It also helps candles burn with steady and unwavering flame
- Stearin curtails the amount of messy wax drips and helps candles to emit less smoke
- Candles with stearin are harder and survive warmer climates, without melting, sagging or losing their shape
